Any creature striking one of the affected creatures regains all of the physical damage they did as healing. This is neither positive nor negative energy, and heals living, construct, and undead creatures equally.

Confuse

The initial target of the necros becomes the target for every other creature that fails its save, as they all attack the attracted target to the best of their abilities. This necros ends if that creature dies.

Iron Maiden

Lower Resistance

All affected creatures find themselves covered in their own personal swarms of locusts. The swarms are highly distracting, causing any action to have a -2 penalty. For spellcasters and similar, it's even worse, and they have a 50% chance to fail casting a spell. Affected characters take 1 point of physical damage a round, due to the constant nipping and biting of the swarm.

Clouded Skies

Each affected creature gains their own personal sleet storm, as per the spell. Except that the storm only affects squares the creature is in or is immediately adjacent to.

Fading Skin

The skin of each affected creature transforms into a transparent, glistening membrane. A creature so transformed must keep this membrane moistened with cool, fresh water or take 1d12 points of damage every 10 minutes. In addition, its natural armor bonus (if any) decreases by 1 per 2 necromant levels, but it can never drop below 0.

Spiteful Fate

Crushing Grip of Age

Blades Broken

Each time an affected creature goes to use an item, being it a weapon, staff, consumable, or otherwise, there is a 50% chance that the item breaks. This does not apply to artefacts.

Despise Thy Neighbour

The first creature to be affected (chosen by the necromant amongst those who failed the save), becomes the target of the undying hatred of all the rest who failed the save. They will attack him if they see him, and if they know where he lives or works, they will sack and despoil the property, most often burning it to the ground. Anyone who assists him becomes targeted by the affected creatures just as he was.

Mind Unto Mind
Level: Vein of Curses 8

All affected creatures have their minds swapped from one body to another (determined randomly). Treat as the mind switch, true power for the duration of the effect (ignoring the negative level).

Animal's Hate

All affected creatures are randomly polymorphed into a small, harmless, creature (as per Baleful Polymorph). Any animal or magical beast regards them as the savoriest delicacy, and will attack and consume them unless in severe danger.

Return to Infancy

When the necros first takes effect, and at the end of every hour of duration, the affected creatures gain a negative level. At the end of the duration of the necros, they must make one fortitude save for every level gained in this way or permanently lose those levels.

Behind the Door

You create a feeling of mild unease in all of the affected creatures, as if something is just behind them, waiting, watching. Any afflicted creature must spend half their actions making spot and listen checks, regardless of the result.

This, Too, Shall Fade

When even a wise king cannot leave a mark on history, what hope does a small populace have? All affected creatures become docile and harmless for the duration. The affected creatures remain where they are and do not attack or flee. They are not helpless and defend themselves normally if attacked. Any threat breaks the curse on the threatened creatures.

Mockery of Time
Level: Vein of Curses 3

The affected creatures become cursed by the vagaries of time and space, tossed randomly about like leaves upon a storm. Every 1d4 rounds, they are teleported 1d10 * 100 ft. per necromant level randomly in any direction (including up and down). They do not need to arrive in a safe location. Additionally, each time they are teleported, they are lost into the stream of time for 1d12 rounds (treat as eper the time hop power).

Haunting

Every building, copse of trees, or other meaningful collection of objects becomes the home of a ghostly haunting. At any time, day or night, the haunted areas emit a frightful moan every 1d4 rounds. Creatures that hear the moan must make a will save (necros DC) or become panicked. If a creature comes within 30 ft. of any haunted location, that location suddenly shifts its appearance, becoming hideous, writhing, miasmatic, and ghostly. Creatures who see this must succeed on a Fortitude save (necros DC) or take 1d4 points of Strength, 1d4 points of Dexterity, and 1d4 points of Constitution damage.

They Came in the Night

The sleep of all affected creatures is disturbed, constantly awoken by grim terrors, feeling ragged and torn, their souls scraped thin as exhaustion carries them to an early grave. After the first night, they are fatigued. After every other night, they are exhausted. They take 2 ability damage to each mental stat for every night they are affected, and at the end of the week, must make another Will save (same DC) or go permanently insane and have the ability damage become permanent reductions.

Life Becomes Death
Level: Vein of Curses 6

You feel a wave of cold pass through you as it seeps into the land, the air, and even the souls of those nearby. You imbue the area with negative energy so powerful it transforms positive energy into its opposite. Anyone in the area who casts a healing spell must succeed on a caster level check (DC 11 + your caster level); if the check fails, the healing spell deals damage to each of its subjects equal to the caster's caster level instead of its normal effect. Living creatures that rest in this area do not regain hit points or lost ability score points. Undead in the area heal damage at the rate of 1 point per Hit Die every 24 hours.

The Burrowers Beneath
Level: Vein of Curses 7

The affected creatures go slowly insane as they feel the dread of something terrible, unknowable, crawling towards them. Each day, they take a cumulative -1 penalty to all actions (so -1 on the first day, -7 on the last), and find themselves unable to get the rest required to function. They do not meet the requirements for 8 hours of rest, are fatigued on the first day and exhausted thereafter, and find themselves curiously passive, waiting in whichever location they were when affected by the curse. At midnight on the 7th day, affected creatures are attacked by a Burrowing Dread. The beasts disappear down into the earth after killing the targets of the curse.

Glory's Call

The affected creatures begin to believe they are marked for glory by a higher power. They receive a 1d4+1 bonus on any activity that is part of the portfolio of their chosen god. Each night, they receive visions assuring them of this glory. However, these visions prevent them from resting, and make them increasingly reckless during the daytime, causing the affected creatures to engage in armed and unarmed conflict with any other affected creature. Any other affected creature witnessing a fight of this kind joins the fight. The fighting continues until such duration is over, or only one creature who failed his saving throw is left alive.

Risen Dead
Level: Vein of Curses 9

Each day, the affected creatures feel their body warping, changing, dying. The dead flesh slowly creeps from the fingertips and toes up the limbs, overcoming any attempt the victim makes to remove it, including amputation. Only a spell from Health and Hearth using more than 13 spell points can remove the rot. Each day, the affected creatures take a cumulative -1 penalty to their physical statistics. At the end of the week, affected creatures die and rise again as free willed zombies. They then say "Brains!" a lot.

Kingdom of Fools

Your curse shatters a kingdom, tearing it apart. Each day, the three most important people in the kingdom must succeed at a fortitude save or die. Likewise, each peasant or artisan in the kingdom must succeed at a will save or rise in rebellion. It is a violent, pointless, rebellion, used to satisfy petty hatreds and overthrow, torture, and slay any nobles or squires. If there is no focus for the rebellion such as a lord, the peasants fight amongst themselves in a bloody riot. At the end of the week, anyone who killed a close friend or relative must succeed at another will save or commit suicide.
